Missing Home!

With a couple weeks left in MN, Kaylee & Mary are missing home. They have enjoyed visits from family members and cards.
Kaylee gets blood work done daily at the clinic.

She's out of the Hospital!

Kaylee got out of the hospital on Friday! She is recovering at the apartment near the hospital for the next couple weeks.

Day 3 following surgery

Kaylee is still feelin sore, tubes are getting even more uncomfortable.

It went well!!

The Dr. says it went well!!! The chances of her not getting diabetes are very slim!
She is doing well!
Pray for her recovery and for her family. Yesterday was very hard on all of them.

Surgery update

Surgery got started around 7:15 a.m.
Mary reported at 11 a.m.:  She is doing well and they are gettin ready to retrieve islets.

Sugery is tomorrow & New address

Kaylee's surgery is tomorrow (Fri., Feb 4th). They expect it to take 8 to 10 HOURS, they will begin at 6 a.m. Pray all goes well!

The Journey begins Feb. 1st

Feb. 1st: Kaylee, Mary & Joe will travel to Minneapolis. Kaylee will have pre-op until the morning of the 4th.

Kaylee writes: On Feb.4th 2011 I will have a total pancreatectomy and Islet Transplant! It will be done at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
